Lately I’ve been playing on a math Webb site called math playground. There is math for all levels. It has really helped me with my fractions. Here is the website  if you want to check it out.

Ocean

This morning we started learning about oceans.

I found out that the ocean only looks blue because red, orange and yellow is absorbed more strongly than blue. So when the white light from the sun enters the ocean only blue gets returned. It is the same for the sky.

Later I want to find out why coral is so important to the ocean.

Pandas

They weigh in between 70-150 kgs. Their 60-70cm tall. They have black and white fur. What are they? They are Giant Pandas.

Giant Pandas live in China. Food is their main priority so they normally live in a rain forest, forest or jungle mean they are closer to food. Pandas are very shy so the live alone.

Pandas are huge so they need lots of food. Bamboo is 99% of their diet and they eat 12-38 kgs of it everyday. Contact with humans is number one their “don't do list” so they will take harder roots to find food to avoid it.

Since Giant Pandas are so BIG they have very few predators. If a predator tried to attack them they will fight back. Like most other bears pandas will use their teeth and claws. Although pandas are big cubs are the opposite and will be killed easily. The cub predators are : Jackals, Snow Leopards and Martens. Pandas are now protected by the law so humans can not hunt them.

Just like koalas, pandas are mammals that sleep a lot. They sleep for 12-16 hours a day. Pandas will live for up to 20 years old in the wild. They spend lots of their day finding food.

Fun facts

There are less than 2000 pandas left in the wild and less than 100 in captivity. Their scientific name is Ailuropoda Melanoleuce. There are 2 species of pandas. The Giant panda and the Red panda. Unlike most mammals pandas birth out there back side.

These Pandas need your help!!!
